University of Hertfordshire MBBS International Scholarship

To celebrate the exciting launch of our brand-new Medical School in September 2026, the University of Hertfordshire is delighted to offer the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) International Scholarship of £2,000.

This special scholarship recognises the international students joining our MBBS programme for the first time at our UK campus. It’s our way of welcoming the very first generation of future doctors to Herts.

Eligible students will receive a tuition fee reduction automatically — no separate application is required. Once you’ve met your academic and English language entry requirements and received an offer for the MBBS, the scholarship will be applied to your fees.

This is a one-off award for new entrants joining in September 2026 and is not available for subsequent years of study. To secure your scholarship, you’ll need to pay your full tuition fee deposit by the deposit deadline.

Terms, conditions and eligibility criteria

• Available only for the MBBS programme — not applicable to any other course.
• Applicants must be assessed as international for fee purposes.
• The value of the scholarship is £2,000.
• Valid only for the September 2026 intake. Applicants who fail to register for this intake cannot defer or transfer the scholarship to a later year, unless expressly approved by the University.
• Applicable only upon first entry to the University and not available for subsequent years of study.
• Applicants cannot combine this award with any other University scholarships or discounts, including:
  • Chancellor’s International Scholarship
  • 20% University of Hertfordshire Graduate Discount
  • International Partner Discount
  • Early Bird Discount
  • Undergraduate Tri-Annual Scholarship
  • Vice Chancellor’s Regional Scholarship
    (unless exceptionally approved at the University’s discretion).
• Applicants may combine the MBBS International Scholarship with the Full Payment Discount if the first-year tuition fees are paid in full by 12 October 2026 for September 2026 entry.
• The scholarship will be applied to tuition fee balance once the student has registered at the University (it will not be deducted from the deposit). If full tuition fees have already been paid, the scholarship value may instead be used toward University accommodation costs (excluding the refundable £150 accommodation deposit).
• Applicants must have been offered and accepted a place on a full-time award-bearing University of Hertfordshire programme and be paying the full cost of the tuition fee from their own resources directly to the University of Hertfordshire, and not discounted or sponsored for any part of the fee by the University of Hertfordshire or an organisation such as an employer, charitable body or government department. (Any contribution by an external organisation to the student's living costs, or a contribution from the student's family to the fee or living costs, does not count as sponsorship under this scheme).
• All conditions of registration must be met before the scholarship is awarded.
• If a student withdraws from the University (whether initiated by the student or the University), all scholarships and discounts will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis in line with the student’s fee liability and the award’s specific terms and conditions.
