- AhmedSOASBSc Accounting and Finance- Hi, I'm Ahmed! I’m a first-year BSc Accounting and Finance student at SOAS. I chose SOAS because of its unique global perspective, diverse community, and strong emphasis on understanding finance in an international and real-world context. The course is both challenging and rewarding, offering a great mix of technical skills and critical thinking. Beyond my studies, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. I’ve spent the past three years leading the 11 Plus department at a tuition center, successfully guiding students through their exams. This experience has strengthened my communication and leadership skills, which I now bring into my university life. I’m passionate about exploring the intersections of finance, business, and global development, and I hope to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the future. Outside of academics, I enjoy engaging in student-led initiatives and networking with like-minded individuals. If you have any questions about studying Accounting and Finance at SOAS, student life, or anything else, feel free to reach out I’d love to help!
- AmarUniversity of GlasgowAccountancy & Finance [BAcc]- Hi I’m Amar, a 4th year Accounting and Finance student at the University of Glasgow. I’m interested in auditing, investing, mergers and acquisitions, and finance in general!
- CharlotteUniversity of LincolnAccountancy and Finance - BA (Hons)- I have just completed my first year as an Accountancy and Finance student at the University of Lincoln. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.
- ChristineUniversity of StaffordshireAccounting and Finance- My future career plans are centered on building a strong foundation in accounting and finance, with a key goal of attaining the ACCA certification to enhance my expertise in global financial standards. As someone born and raised in the UAE with Filipino roots, I have had the privilege of a multicultural upbringing that has shaped my worldview. My positive experience as an international student further broadened my horizons, helping me develop adaptability and resilience—qualities that I will carry into my career. In addition to my professional ambitions, I also have a deep passion for baking, which allows me to blend creativity with precision, much like in finance.
- DanielUniversity of SurreyAccounting and Finance BSc (Hons)- Currently a BSc Accounting and Finance student undergoing an Industrial Placement year with BDO UK LLP. - KristineUniversity of WarwickAccounting and Finance (BSc)- I am an open-minded and curious individual who thrives on exploring new experiences, ideas, and perspectives. Whether it’s immersing myself in different cultures, learning new skills, or pushing personal boundaries, I embrace challenges with enthusiasm and adaptability. My interests are diverse, spanning finance, art, theater, music, and adventure sports, reflecting my desire to engage with both analytical and creative disciplines. I find excitement in intellectual discussions, hands-on experiences, and deep dives into niche topics that broaden my understanding of the world. Always eager to step out of my comfort zone, I believe growth comes from experiencing the unfamiliar. From learning a new language to experimenting with different artistic styles or engaging in high-intensity activities like skydiving, I approach life with a mix of ambition, curiosity, and a constant drive for self-improvement. For me, every opportunity is a chance to evolve, connect, and gain new insights.
