Hi, I'm Ahmed!

I’m a second-year BSc Accounting and Finance student at SOAS. I chose SOAS because of its unique global perspective, diverse community, and strong emphasis on understanding finance in an international and real-world context. The course is both challenging and rewarding, offering a great mix of technical skills and critical thinking.

Beyond my studies, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. I’ve spent the past three years leading the 11 Plus department at a tuition center, successfully guiding students through their exams. This experience has strengthened my communication and leadership skills, which I now bring into my university life.

I’m passionate about exploring the intersections of finance, business, and global development, and I hope to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the future. Outside of academics, I enjoy engaging in student-led initiatives and networking with like-minded individuals.

Beyond academics, I’m passionate about staying active with badminton and yoga training, and I find creative expression through fine art painting. Traveling is another passion of mine, and I love exploring new places and cultures, which has greatly enriched my own university journey. Hi, my name is Aimée and I come from Switzerland. I am a fourth year Zoology student with an interest genetics, and using it to conserve the species of our planet. I chose to study at Lancaster after falling in love with the campus on an open day. Last year I completed a placement year working in the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland's WildGenes genetics laboratory. At university one of my favourite things to do is discover new coffee shops around Lancaster with my friends. Besides this I can usually be found in Waterstones buying yet another book or at home playing my latest Nintendo Switch obsession!

I began my career as a midwife in Ghana, where I had the privilege of supporting women and families during one of the most important moments in their lives. This hands-on experience in maternal and newborn care not only strengthened my clinical skills but also ignited my passion for improving people’s lives and contributing to positive change on a larger scale. I am currently pursuing this passion through the MSc Public Health programme at the University of Northampton. The university has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to design, implement, as well as evaluate policies and interventions that can improve maternal and child health outcomes at population levels.

Hi, I'm Alexandra and I'm a 2nd year Drama and Creative Writing undergraduate student at UEA. I'm Spanish/Bolivian but have lived most of my life in Bolivia. As someone with a passion for stage and screen, I chose the Drama and Creative Writing course at UEA to develop and acquire more skills that would allow me to succeed in my career path. I am particularly passionate about scriptwriting, acting and filmmaking, so in the future, I hope I can dedicate myself to all of them. I was previously studying graphic design in Bolivia, but I decided to apply to UEA to pursue my goals; however, I still dedicate some time to it because I love it.
