Hi, I'm Sara and  I've really enjoyed my time at the university so far, its been lovely to meet so many different people and enjoy student life! I know it can seem a little daunting at first but there are lots of events and societies organised to meet new people and have fun! Personally I like to bake, read and I'd love to travel and explore new cultures.  After I've completed my degree, I have an interest in pediatrics , however, I'm still very uncertain at this stage- (let's hope I survive my exams first..)

Hi there! I’m Sarah, a third year medical student at Brighton and Sussex medical School. I am a mature student having worked for the UK Government for the past ten year, and a graduate, completing my first degree in Medical Neuroscience here at the University of Sussex. It really feels like I have come full circle now that I am back here studying medicine!

I hope to become a GP once I finish my degree, but we get so much exposure to different specialities I am also excited to explore. I enjoy yoga and cold water swimming which is great as I live by the sea for the first time!

Hi! I'm currently an archaeology PhD student. I have previously completed my MSc and Ba with Uwtsd so I'm currently in my 5th year at the university. I have wanted to be an archaeologist for many years and hope to work as an Environmental archaeologist in the future.  My passions outside the classroom include netball, acting and playing saxophone. I love to keep active and cook amazing meals for next to nothing. If anyone ever needs a chat or anything i am always happy to listen, and don't worry i'm easy to find! My course of Psychology and Philosophy was my first formal study from the core functions, systems and structure of the brain to different viewpoints and perspectives in philosophy to understand the moral and ethical values of life. I’m Shiam Rahman, and I’m currently studying Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Brunel University.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by electronic devices and how they work. Electrical engineering is like the "black magic" of engineering—it’s all happening behind the scenes, and yet, every little interaction, like the click of a button, is the result of someone’s design and innovation. I’m excited to dive deeper into how these systems work and, one day, be part of the tech industry that shapes our future.

Beyond engineering, I have a strong passion for art and design. I love drawing and painting people, and I also have skills in graphic design, image manipulation, and animation. My creative side really complements my technical interests, and I enjoy finding ways to blend the two.

At Brunel, I also work as a Student Recruitment and Widening Access Ambassador. It’s such a rewarding experience, and I love being part of a community that is all about supporting each other.
