I began my career as a midwife in Ghana, where I had the privilege of supporting women and families during one of the most important moments in their lives. This hands-on experience in maternal and newborn care not only strengthened my clinical skills but also ignited my passion for improving people’s lives and contributing to positive change on a larger scale. I am currently pursuing this passion through the MSc Public Health programme at the University of Northampton. The university has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to design, implement, as well as evaluate policies and interventions that can improve maternal and child health outcomes at population levels.
To prospective students, your decision to study at the University of Northampton is an excellent one. You will have the opportunity to learn from dedicated lecturers, access comprehensive resources, and engage in a diverse, supportive academic community. The university encourages critical thinking, fosters practical problem-solving abilities, and provides the platform to translate your ambitions into meaningful impact, while also offering a vibrant campus life that enriches both your professional and personal growth.

Shaun
University of Strathclyde
MSc Neuroscience & Mental Health
My course of Psychology and Philosophy was my first formal study from the core functions, systems and structure of the brain to different viewpoints and perspectives in philosophy to understand the moral and ethical values of life. I consider learning, education and knowledge are key aspects in my life, it doesn’t necessarily lead down a path of academia, but I use everything I learn to inch me that wee bit forward to my goal. I’ve previously got experience in simple catering jobs, retail but I consider myself, first and foremost as swimmer teacher. If I’m strive to become an academic researcher at Strathclyde University.
