Student life

London is a diverse and vibrant city, home to nine million people and an estimated 400,000 students from over 200 countries. With its rich mix of history, culture and entertainment – studying in London is an experience like no other.

Our students are at the core of a thriving film industry surrounded by countless production companies, film studios, cinemas and post-production houses. Thousands of creative jobs are generated by London’s screen industries and with this sector expanding, the demand for skilled craftspeople and creative talent in the city is more necessary than ever.

Central London offers LFS students access to industry events and opportunities to network with professionals. There are often events for students held in collaboration with like-minded film organisations. Social events happen each term as well as lectures and debates, parties and subsidised travel trips in the UK and overseas film festivals and markets.

It’s big, but it’s easy to jump on a train, tube or bus to experience everything on offer – from food pop-ups to world famous music acts, free museums and West End shows.

Fantastically diverse and historical, with many industries and businesses based here to kickstart your career, London is one of the most desirable – if pricey – cities in the world.

Campus and facilities

Our MA programmes are taught from our newly fitted out Parker Street campus, where film studios, design studios, edit suites, and teaching spaces sit alongside the School’s professional services – all under one roof.

The building is 300 yards from Holborn tube station and sits atop The Garden Cinema, London’s exciting new three-screen arthouse cinema, providing students with a unique link to the city’s thriving film culture.

At London Film School, students are never short on inspiration. Situated in Covent Garden, in the heart of London, within walking distance of West End theatres, Leicester Square cinemas and the production hubs of Soho and Fitzrovia. Nearby too, are the famous cultural landmarks of the Royal Opera House, the National Gallery, the British Museum, the British Film Institute Library, BFI Southbank, the National Theatre and Bertha DocHouse to name a few.
