About us

At the University of Brighton, you’ll study in the independent and inclusive beachside city of Brighton & Hove and gain more than just a degree. We offer over 150 undergraduate courses, all designed with your future in mind.

The city is a great place for you to open doors to your dream career. 100% of courses offer placements or professional experience, and some courses also offer study abroad, live project briefs or assessed voluntary work to boost your CV, leading to great graduate outcomes. Almost 9 out of 10 of Brighton’s UK graduates are working or studying just 15 months after finishing their course (Graduate Outcomes 2025.)

The university’s employability hub will also support you to find work while studying and after graduation. Unlike other universities, our careers guidance doesn’t expire after you graduate – our support is for life.

University of Brighton: What we do matters

Learning at Brighton is all about doing. Becoming skilled, confident and career-ready through real experiences and hands-on practice. Brighton is a place for doers; it’s what we do in the world that matters. (Original music by Patrick Bentley-Sullivan, 2024, Digital Music and Sound Arts student.)

What makes us different

Brighton is a place where everyone belongs. It’s been ranked the third best city in the UK, the best for happiness and the world’s third most diverse and inclusive (Time Out). Its diversity shines through in the shops, cafes, parades, nightlife and arts scene, and it has a great student community. Almost 14% of the city’s residents are students, so you’ll be among like-minded people.

Living in Brighton has a positive effect on wellbeing; there’s an undeniable feel-good factor of being on the coast – from fun sunny beach days to quieter times contemplating that soothing 180 degrees of open water. You will also benefit from the city’s proximity to London.

At Brighton, you will form connections and learn the skills and knowledge to continue the path to your future career. Every degree is built with employability in mind to ensure that you graduate with the skills that employers are looking for. Courses are accredited by over 50 professional organisations.
