At University Centre South Devon, you’ll find a wide range of dedicated support services designed to help you succeed academically, personally, and professionally. Our teams are available throughout your journey — and you can contact many of them even before you start your course.
AskUCSD (Student Support Hub)
Our Student Support Hub is your first point of contact for any advice relating to study, wellbeing, disability, employability or progression. The Hub provides guidance and connects you with specialist support services.
Academic Support
- Personal Tutors provide one‑to‑one guidance throughout your studies to support academic progress and personal development.
- The HE Faculty Office helps with queries including student finance, bursaries, assessment submission, council tax, and general academic information.
Disability & Additional Learning Support
- Support with Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications.
- Guidance on reasonable adjustments and specialist study support.
- Information, advice and ongoing support for students with disabilities or additional learning needs.
Health & Wellbeing Support
- Access to counselling and Therapeutic wellbeing support services.
- Self‑help resources and links to external agencies for additional wellbeing support.
Financial Support
- Advice on funding, bursaries and financial support, including hardship funds.
- Guidance on tuition fees, financial planning and Student Finance queries.
Accommodation Support
While UCSD does not directly manage halls of residence, the Student Support Hub and Helpzone teams offer guidance on:
- Accessing community and housing‑related support
(Indirectly supported through Helpzone’s advice services) - UCSD provides fully furnished house‑share accommodation close to campus, offering comfortable shared living with between 3–8 students.
- Properties are located near Paignton town centre and the beach, with convenient access to the University Centre.
- UCSD can also support you in finding suitable housing, including help for international students once an offer is made.
Social & Community Support
- Access to the Library, gym membership offers, cafés and campus facilities as part of student life.
- Student representation through the Student Voice, helping shape your learning experience.
Careers, Employability & Next Steps
- Support with CVs, interviews, placements and progression through the Employability and Next Steps service.
- Opportunities to develop career‑ready skills in partnership with local employers.
