About us

Plymouth Marjon University sits on a green and spacious campus, with state-of-the-art facilities in a spectacular part of the world. But the thing that most makes us stand out is our students. They are the inspiration and motivation for all we do.

Here, students build strong working relationships with a network of supporters, from their Personal Development Tutors to their lecturers to the Student Union, and therefore achieve more than they ever thought possible. They work side-by-side with us to improve and develop the University to make their experience as rich and rewarding as possible.

All our programmes involve work placements of some sort, and all students are trained in critical graduate-level skills such as presenting with impact, applying for jobs, managing interviews, and influencing others. We work very closely with key employers on all programmes, linking our students to a network of contacts to help them in their future careers.

Life at Marjon

Our campus is a breath of fresh air. There are green spaces, woodlands ponds, deckchairs, a gym and pool and amazing views over Plymouth and the Sea. Everything is in one place with a shop for essentials, accommodation, library making it really easy to study and socialise.

What makes us different

We think Marjon is an incredible special university. We are led by our Values: put simply, we care about you, and we are dedicated to your success. We listen to students, and want to hear your ideas to then work hard on addressing any concerns.

We are ranked year after year in the very top of the league tables and have climbed 39 places in five years in The Times and Sunday Times good University Guide 2019 - 2023.

We are No 1 for Student satisfaction in England (Complete University Guide 2023), No 1 in England for Social Inclusion (Good University Guide 2023) and No 3 in England for Learning Community (National Student Survey 2022)

My favourite thing about Marjon is the atmosphere. There's one great big family vie, there is always someone around to talk to. You get to know people so quickly, just because you have something in common, and I think that is fantastic.
