Ruth Jones

Ruth has worked in international higher education for over 20 years, with several roles at NCUK, a Global Pathway Provider. This includes leading the Student Support team which helped international students taking NCUK programmes on their journey to university. 

In 2023 Ruth joined UCAS’s International Advisory group to support UCAS’s strategic direction in the international field. In 2025 Ruth was delighted to be appointed Chair of the UCAS International Advisory Group and to have the opportunity to lead the group in the strategic advice it gives to UCAS.

Liv McGill

Liv McGill is an Admissions Manager in the Undergraduate Admissions Team at the University of York, where she’s worked since 2017. 

Liv and her team are responsible for reviewing and processing UCAS applications, working closely with academic departments to make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. They also play a key role in supporting prospective students — whether that’s answering questions about the admissions process, offering guidance on personal statements, or helping applicants feel more confident about their choices.

She’s passionate about making admissions feel a little less daunting and a lot more accessible.
