Summer recruitment

Last year, between 24 July and 4 September 2015, over 1,000 applications were rejected by default. It is really important that all applications received over the summer months receive a response from training providers, to enable applicants to look elsewhere for a training place.

We are asking all training providers to carefully consider their recruitment over the summer months and to ensure that, if you have left your programmes open over the summer, you are regularly checking for new applications and responding to them. Providing a quick response to applicants you are not able to consider allows those applicants the opportunity to progress their application with a different training provider.

A lot of our training providers choose not to recruit during the summer holidays. If this is the case, please ensure you have closed your programmes by updating your vacancy status to 'No vacancies'. To support training providers, we have put together a very short video guide showing you how to do this. Please note, you will need to be signed in to the providers' section of ucas.com to view this video.
