What does an animator do?
An animator draws and animates characters, buildings, objects and landscapes. You can animate by drawing a series of pictures by hand, or by using a computer.
You’ll need to be highly artistic and able to turn descriptions and storyboards into compelling visuals. You could be working in a small company or a large animation studio. You may be animating for television, film or computer games.
What do I need to do to become an animator?
To become an animator you can either train on the job or take an animation or art degree. Most employers will expect to see a portfolio of your work before hiring you.
