How can we help?

Search our Conservatoires frequently asked questions.

How can I update my name, date of birth or passport details?

  • Please complete our update my details form and we'll do this for you.
  • For name and date of birth changes, you need you to attach a clear photo or scanned copy of an official document showing these – such as a birth certificate, marriage certificate, driving licence or passport.
  • As long as we’ve got everything we need, we’ll update your details and the changes will display in Track.
  • It's important you also let your conservatoires know.

How does the reference process work?

A reference is a written recommendation from a teacher, adviser, or professional who knows you academically.

  • You’ll need an academic reference and a practical reference. These must be completed by two different referees. Enter the details of your referees on the application, and send a request to them to complete the reference for you. This will then be attached to your application when you submit it.
  • If you are unable to get your references in time, you can proceed without a reference by selecting the relevant tick box in the reference section of your application. You will need to print or download the reference forms and email them to your referees – and they need to send the references to the conservatoires you’re applying to.

  • This must be completed by the end of October for music courses, or as soon as possible for courses with other deadlines – check conservatoire websites for specific dates.

Read our advice about references for conservatoires.

Why can’t I complete the qualification section?

This happens when something has been missed out or incorrectly added to the qualifications you have listed.

We will always need something to be entered as the awarding organisation. If you don’t know what to put here, simply enter a dash and this will let you continue. If you need to do this, we recommend you let the conservatoire you’re applying to know.

If you have entered a pending qualification, you may not need to enter a result and can leave this box blank.
