UCAS general prize draw terms and conditions

These are the terms and conditions for UCAS prize draws and should be read together with rules of entry (the ‘Rules’) for the individual prize draw which together are the terms which apply between the Promoter, THE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES ADMISSIONS SERVICE whose registered office is Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, GL52 3LZ (‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’) and the entrant (‘you, ‘your’). 

There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter our prize draws. Data charges may apply, you should check the terms and conditions of your internet or mobile service package.  

Who can enter

Any entry requirement will be included in the individual prize draw rules.

We will use any personal information you provide in accordance with these terms and conditions and with our privacy policy. 

UCAS prize draws are not open to our employees or anyone associated with us, including members, directors, employees or agents of affiliated or subsidiary companies, their families or anyone else connected in any way with the prize draw. 

 Entrants must be 14 years old or over. Entrants under the age of 16 must have the permission of their parent or guardian to enter.

How to enter/what we cannot accept

Please read the rules for the entry requirements and details of the formats required for entry.

Strictly only one entry per person is allowed to an individual prize draw. Duplicate entries are invalid and will not be entered.

The opening and closing date for entries will be in the prize draw rules. No entries will be accepted after the closing date.

No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received, for whatever reason.

Winners & prizes

The winner(s) and any runner(s)-up will be chosen at random. The prize details will be in the rules.

We reserve the right to withdraw, reduce or change the prize without notice. UCAS is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this draw.

You may not give, or ask us to give your prize to someone else. 

The winner(s)/runner-up will be notified by email within 14 days of the closing date. If the winner(s) cannot be contacted, or does not provide a postal address for the prize to be sent to within seven days of being told they have won, we can withdraw the prize from the winner(s)/runner-up and pick a replacement winner and/or runner-up.

Any tax payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received will be the responsibility of the winner(s) and runners-up. Winners should seek independent financial advice prior to accepting a prize if this is a concern.

Other terms

If you win, then you permit us to use your name in any publicity material.

To the fullest extent permitted by law we will not be liable for loss or damage arising out of each winner’s acceptance or enjoyment of their prize.

We reserve the right to cancel the prize draw, or amend these terms and conditions without notice. Any cancellation or changes will be advised on www.ucas.com. Our decision in all aspects of the prize draw will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The prize draw and these terms and conditions are subject to the operation of English Law and the courts of England. The winner(s), runner(s)-up, or any other entrant’s personal data will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection law.

The names and countries of residence of the winner(s) and runner(s)-up will be available 24 days after the closing date, by sending a stamped addressed envelope to UCAS at the above address.
