Why work at UCAS?
Purpose: Rewarding work with real impact
At UCAS, our beneficiaries and customers are central to our purpose, which is rooted in a charity-led mission to connect people to education and life-changing opportunities. It’s work that feels meaningful, where your expertise contributes to a cause that truly matters. We support this with development academies and training opportunities, and roles that make a real difference every day.
Hybrid: Empowering you to do your best work
Our hybrid working model is built on trust, flexibility, and accountability. It empowers you to work in ways that suit your lifestyle while helping us deliver inclusive, frictionless services. With flexible contracts, a 35-hour working week, and access to modern, collaborative workspaces (including an onsite restaurant, gym, and parking), we make it easier to do your best work, wherever you are.
Balance: When you feel good, you do great things
Balance is essential for wellbeing and performance. We believe in giving people the space to thrive — at work and at home. That’s why we offer 30 days of annual leave, days off at Christmas, sabbaticals, and volunteering opportunities. Through our benefits platform, we support everyday wellbeing, helping you stay energised, focused, and ready to make a meaningful impact.
Culture: Feeling seen, supported, and celebrated
Our culture is inclusive and collaborative, built on trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to increasing participation in education. We celebrate our people with recognition awards, staff events, and a strong Wellbeing Group, including Mental Health First Aiders and employee networks. With a supportive environment, UCAS is a place where we all belong.
Your space
We have the latest collaborative tools to support hybrid working, and a true culture of contribution – both online and in person. When you want to work side-by-side with your colleagues, we’ve got a beautiful office in the south-west of England with everything you’d want from a workspace: a subsidised restaurant, onsite gym, plenty of parking, vast greenspace, and free tea and coffee. We put our heart into where we work because we want everyone to feel comfortable and inspired by their surroundings.
As part of our EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) programme, supported by our Wellbeing Group, you can expect the following when working in the Rosehill (UCAS HQ) office:
- The office space has been designed to enable everyone to access as many work settings as possible, including an accessible kitchen counter.
- A third of all our desks are electric sit/stand, enabling wheelchair access and adjustability for people with different posture requirements.
- The desks on the remaining floors have been configured to ensure that the sit/stand desks are easiest to access.
- Our new toilets/shower rooms are gender neutral and we've included a quiet working zone and a quiet room to support people who may need time for quiet reflection or prayer.
- To improve access, we have a number of electric powered doors and have included swipe access on the reception accessible entrance/exit.
- We've provided a number of USB desk fans to assist those people who require additional cooling.
- We've implemented a new signage solution which improves visibility of signage and also includes braille.
- UCAS has moved to a hybrid working model which provides more flexibility and personal choice for its people, which helps support an improved work/life balance.

- Beneficiary & Customer Centricity – putting our beneficiaries and customers first
