Subject-specific foundation options – alternative to the ‘international foundation year’
Summary
An opportunity to learn about subject-specific year 0/foundation courses in England, from two universities with an extensive offering of foundation courses. Do you have students who would like to access ‘top’ universities, but have either the wrong required subjects or lower grades? Do you have students that know the general area they wish to study, but would like to explore a number of options in that area before deciding on a final degree path? Year 0 programmes could be an option!
The session will be delivered in a presentation style environment, explaining and using examples of subject-specific ‘in-house’ foundation courses across England. There will also be a set time for Q&A and further discussion at the end of the session.
Learning outcomes
Delegates will learn:
- an alternative route for UK HE for their students
- how a year 0 can work with current UK/EU funding (this may have to be revised before June 2019!)
- options for students who are interested in English universities, but undecided on their final degree title choice
