Experience university life first-hand at events hosted on actual university and college campuses across the UK.
Get a real feel for student life: Experience what campus life is like by exploring the areas you'd spend your time. Walk through lecture theatres, libraries, student unions and accommodation options. See how students move between buildings, where they eat lunch, and what the atmosphere feels like.
Talk to universities and colleges: Compare different universities whilst standing in one – useful for understanding what makes each place distinctive and what matters to you.
Talk to current students: Chat with students who were in your position not long ago. They'll share the reality of university life – from managing workloads and budgets to making friends and joining societies. Find out what they wish they'd known before starting and get honest answers about their experiences.
Academic taster sessions: Attend subject talks delivered by university lecturers. Experience different teaching styles, understand what university-level study involves, and ask academics about their subjects. These sessions help you gauge whether you'd enjoy studying particular subjects at degree level.
Professional on-site support: UCAS advisers provide guidance on applications and entry requirements, while qualified careers advisers offer impartial advice about all your options.
UCAS Discovery events
Heading to a UCAS event? Find out what it's really like and how to make the most of it.

"At UCAS Discovery, I spoke to almost every person about different course options available in the subjects I liked, and asked loads of questions. There was one student that spoke who said, ‘If you study something that you love, you don’t feel like you’re studying it’, which was so inspirational I decided to study geography at Swansea University."

"There were so many universities to speak to and activities to get involved in. I got valuable insights into student life and course structures from the universities I’m applying to. It was a really valuable experience."
