Explore the technical, artistic and industry skills you’ll need to become a game artist. Through practical projects that can be tailored to your artistic style, you’ll be encouraged to think creatively and collaboratively, equipping you with the skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the modern creative industries. You’ll join an inclusive community of students and expert staff on a programme that emphasises diversity and creates socially conscious practitioners, encouraging critical analysis of games and production practices.
BA (Hons) Games Art has been designed to ensure direct relevance to current industry games art roles. With modules that embed technical and conceptual approaches to the production of art for games, you’ll develop your skills in concept art, storytelling, 2D and 3D art production, all valuable skills for employment in the game industry.
You’ll be based in the School of Digital Arts (SODA) with access to advanced technologies in our state-of-the-art studios including VR/AR labs, virtual production and motion capture studios, and the University’s award-winning 3D printing facility. You’ll also benefit from the professional connections our academics bring to the course. National and international guest speakers, networking events and industry partnerships will connect you to gaming, animation and digital arts professionals, providing valuable industry insights and network-building opportunities for your future career.
