Course summary

Designed to respond to the needs of the modern vocal performer, this degree will prepare you for your next steps into the music industry, maximising your talent and enhancing your range of skills. The course focuses on practical real-world learning with assessments which mimic industry relevant tasks to give you confidence as a professional to go on to a career as a singer, rapper, songwriter, music producer, lyricist, composer, musical director, vocal producer, coach, arranger and more.

You will cover a range of areas including developing vocal performance both live and in the studio, the skills needed to record and produce professional standard vocals, as well as songwriting and composition skills. You’ll also explore the music industry, marketing and promotion as well as managing your own events. This knowledge will not only enhance your chances for employment but will give you greater agency and control over your sound and musical identity.

Based in our London campus you’ll benefit from fantastic performance, production and practice facilities enabling you to hone your craft and gain experience using industry standard kit and techniques. Our lecturers all have extensive industry experience and have worked with massive stars such as Pharrell Williams, Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Rihanna. They use this knowledge to make your learning relevant and rewarding. We supplement your classes with a wide range of regular guest masterclasses from industry pros, gigs, open mics and visits.

To help you along the way you’ll benefit from a bespoke Virtual Learning Environment for each module which is packed with examples, videos and exercises to enhance your experience. You’ll also benefit from 1-2-1 feedback meetings and you’ll work in small classes, ensuring you have plenty of chances to ask questions and get support should you need it. Upon finishing the degree you’ll have completed a range of high-quality projects which you can use to promote yourself and get that essential foothold on the career ladder.
