Course summary

Trwy ddewis astudio’r Gymraeg a Mathemateg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth byddwch yn perthyn i ddwy adran sydd wedi’u hen sefydlu a chanddynt dros 100 mlynedd o brofiad o ymchwilio a dysgu’r ddau egwyddor ond sydd hefyd yn addysgu’n ddeinamig mewn modd sy’n procio’r meddwl. Os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn datblygu ac ymchwilio i drysorau pellach ym myd Iaith a Llenyddiaeth Gymraeg a chanfod adnabyddiaeth a dadansoddiad o siapiau a phatrymau trwy gasglu a chyfrifo data, dyma’r radd i chi. Canfyddwch ddisgyblaeth sy’n cyfuno adnabod a dadansoddi siapiau a phatrymau trwy gasglu a chyfrifo data.

Dysgir Mathemateg yn Aberystwyth ers 1872, felly mae gan yr adran dros 140 o flynyddoedd o ragoriaeth dysgu, ac yn cyflogi darlithwyr sy’n addysgwyr ymroddedig ac yn ymchwilwyr sy’n cael eu cydnabod yn rhyngwladol. Bydd gradd mewn Mathemateg yn agor ystod eang o lwybrau gyrfa i chi, ac mae’r radd hon wedi’i hachredu gan y Sefydliad Mathemateg a’i Chymwysiadau (IMA), sef prif gymdeithas ddysgedig a phroffesiynol y DU ar gyfer mathemateg, a fydd yn cyfrannu’n uniongyrchol at gael eich cydnabod yn Fathemategydd Siartredig.

Mae amrywiaeth hynod ddiddorol o cyrsiau unigol ar gael yn yr Adran, sy’n adlewyrchu diddordebau ymchwil diweddaraf ein darlithwyr: hanes ein llên a llenyddiaeth gyfoes, theori lenyddol, llenyddiaeth plant, llên gwerin, astudiaethau menywod ac astudiaethau rhywedd, ysgrifennu creadigol a sgriptio, cyweiriau a thafodieithoedd y Gymraeg, yr iaith mewn cyd-destunau proffesiynol, cyfieithu ac addasu, y Gymraeg a'r cyfryngau, cymdeithaseg yr iaith Gymraeg.

Iaith Gyntaf ac Ail Iaith: mae’r cynllun gradd hwn yn cynnwys llwybrau Ail Iaith ac Iaith Gyntaf. Mae’r Adran yn cynnig nifer o fodiwlau trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

Ymaelodwch ag UMCA, dewch i fyw yn neuadd Pantycelyn-Penbryn, ewch ar deithiau rygbi, ymunwch â chôr Pantycelyn, ac ewch i nosweithiau megis Gwobrau'r Selar.

Access to HE Diploma

The University welcomes undergraduate applications from students studying the Access to Higher Education Diploma, provided that relevant subject content and learning outcomes are met. We are not able to accept Access to Higher Education Diplomas as a general qualification for every undergraduate degree course.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 28 - 30 points

To include 5 points in Mathematics at Higher Level.

Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)

Accepted in lieu of one A-Level, excluding any specified subjects.

A minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in GCSE (or equivalent) English or Welsh is a requirement for entry to all our degree schemes. Business, Psychology, Mathematics, and Science degree schemes also require a minimum grade C or grade 4 pass in Mathematics and/or Science at GCSE (or equivalent).
