Course summary

Equivalent to year one of our BA (Hons) Music Production & DJ Performance, this Certificate of Higher Education is for people who live for music and have an interest in DJing. Now more than ever, the distinction between producers and DJs growing slimmer; both talents are needed to complement each other, if you want the widest platform for your music. Practical lectures take place two days per week and outside of lectures you can make use of the the fully stacked Pioneer DJ Studio. Developed by music industry professionals who have worked with the likes of Pharrell Williams and N.E.R.D, Black Eyed Peas, The Killers, Swedish House Mafia and many more, and featuring top software packages such as Native Instruments' Komplete, this course also includes free entry to Apple's Logic 101 exam for Logic Pro users. Class sizes are strictly limited to 16 and each student has their own workstation and DJ set up in class and the practice studios. The course is taught on either Logic Pro or Ableton Live, depending on your preference. This CertHE is worth 120 internationally recognised credits at level 4.

Access to HE Diploma

Applicants with the Access to HE Diploma should normally have had a break from full-time education before undertaking the Access course. Successful completion of this course requires students to gain 60 credits, with 45 credits at Level 3 and 15 credits at Level 2.

Scottish Higher

These are acceptable both on their own and in combination with other qualifications. You will require a minimum of two Advanced Highers or three Highers and a maximum of 5 Scottish higher qualifications.

English language requirements

All applicants must be able to demonstrate English language at CEFR level B2, equivalent to grade C / 4 at GCSE. Please note this requirement also applies to mature students (21 or over) without formal qualifications who have been admitted based on their admissions test and/or prior experience. All international students requiring visa sponsorship require an IELTS Academic test. If you are an international student applying for a Student Visa and do not currently have a valid IELTS Academic test, Point Blank will be happy to provide a fee waiver of 185 GBP, to be waived from your fees upon successful registration only. Point Blank will not provide further waivers for resits and the IELTS test booking receipt must be provided as proof of test fee paid. Fee waivers are applicable to tests completed post-application date only.

Applicants applying from the European Union

The We Are Europe Scholarship is awarded to EU applicants without settled or pre-settled status in the UK. This scholarship allows the same financial benefits as domestic students by granting EU students the home tuition fee.

To be eligible, applicants must be accepted on any of our higher education courses at our London campus and not have previously studied a degree.

Students with Pre-settled or Settled status in the UK should be eligible for UK Home Fees.
