Aaliyah
SOASBA HistoryHi there! My name is Aaliyah. I am a fourth year Arabic and History student and I have just come back from my year abroad to Jordan! I enjoy reading and writing in my spare time and going on walks around London. Ahmed
SOASBSc Accounting and FinanceHi, I'm Ahmed! I’m a first-year BSc Accounting and Finance student at SOAS. I chose SOAS because of its unique global perspective, diverse community, and strong emphasis on understanding finance in an international and real-world context. The course is both challenging and rewarding, offering a great mix of technical skills and critical thinking. Beyond my studies, I have a strong background in teaching and mentoring. I’ve spent the past three years leading the 11 Plus department at a tuition center, successfully guiding students through their exams. This experience has strengthened my communication and leadership skills, which I now bring into my university life. I’m passionate about exploring the intersections of finance, business, and global development, and I hope to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in the future. Outside of academics, I enjoy engaging in student-led initiatives and networking with like-minded individuals. If you have any questions about studying Accounting and Finance at SOAS, student life, or anything else, feel free to reach out—I’d love to help! Aimee

SOASLaw and EconomicsI am committed to forging a career in law that centers on advocacy. My short-term goal is to qualify as a barrister specialising in financial law and consumer rights, where I aim to champion equitable outcomes for individuals and businesses navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Over time, I aspire to deepen my expertise in these fields, leveraging courtroom advocacy to protect vulnerable parties and uphold accountability in financial systems. Looking further ahead, my long-term aspiration is to serve as a judge in a senior appellate court. I am driven by the belief that the judiciary plays a pivotal role in shaping fair, precedent-setting decisions—particularly in areas like consumer protection and financial disputes, where systemic imbalances often persist. By bridging rigorous legal analysis with a steadfast commitment to equity, I hope to contribute meaningfully to jurisprudence while fostering public trust in the legal system. Ereza
