University of Wales Trinity Saint DavidApplied Computing (MSc, PgDip, PgCert)I've lived abroad for over half my life in Portugal, it was my first language but my parents are English. I then moved to England for personal reasons. So I got hit with lots of cultural differences but managed to adapt quite easily. I then moved to Wales for uni and am enjoying it greatly. Welsh people are lovely and made me feel welcomed and part of their community. So feel free to chat with me if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always happy to have a chat and help others out as I've never lived in Wales before and was completely new to the area. Polly

University of WarwickProfessional Education (Teacher Training/PGCE) (PGT)Hi! My name's Priya and I’m a Modern Languages PGCE student at the University of Warwick. I’ve just completed a BA in Modern Languages (French, Spanish, and Italian) and am now taking my passion for languages further by training to teach MFL!😊. I'm so happy with the degree combination and university that I chose, and am happy to answer any questions you might have about studying Languages at university, teacher training, or Warwick in general! Sayem
University of Wales Trinity Saint DavidComputer Networks and Cyber Security (MSc, PgDip, PgCert)Hi, I’m Sayem, a postgraduate student studying MSc Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. I completed my Bachelor’s in Computer Science & Engineering, where I worked on projects related to cybersecurity—especially phishing detection using behavioral biometrics. I’m originally from Bangladesh and now studying on the Swansea campus. I know how exciting—and sometimes confusing—it can feel when planning to study abroad, so I’m always happy to share honest advice about university life, courses, accommodation, part-time work, or life in Wales. Outside my studies, I enjoy tech, solving practical problems, and exploring new places. If you have questions about the course, campus, or student life, feel free to message me. I’m here to help! If you want it shorter, more friendly, or more focused on campus life, I can adjust it!

Teacher training
If you’re considering teaching in a UK state school, you’ll need to have a degree, and a recognised teaching qualification. Initial Teacher Education or Training (ITET) programmes across the UK are broadly similar, providing a combination of academic study and time in school, as you learn about key teaching methods. The routes, entry requirements, and statutory teaching standards are different depending on where in the UK you plan to train, and ultimately, teach. You can apply through UCAS for the main postgraduate and undergraduate teacher training programmes in Wales and Scotland. For programmes in England, use the DfE's 'Apply for teacher training' service.
