Lancaster UniversityMathematics and StatisticsHi! I'm Crystal, a second-year MSci Computer Science and Mathematics student with a special interest in Data Science and ML. When I started university, I wasn’t entirely sure about my future career path. However, through various opportunities at university, I’ve developed a strong passion for data science and I now feel much more confident about the direction I want to take in my career. Often spotted around campus carrying badminton rackets because nothing beats badminton after a long day for stress-relief... On my off days I explore places nearby Lancaster, play games with my friends and try out new recipes. Whenever I get homesick, I make Malaysian chicken curry (and it's perfect for winter). Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you have, whether it's about doing a joint degree, life at Lancaster, or even to talk about any data science/coding projects! I'm interested to hear what you think. Deniz
Lancaster UniversityMathematics and StatisticsI studied BSc Mathematics and Economics at Lancaster University before I decided to do MSc statistics here as well. I specialised in Microeconomics and Statistics in my undergraduate degree and am now specialising in Medical Statistics. I hope to work as a statistician in the medical field once I have finished my masters. Florence
Lancaster UniversityMathematics and StatisticsHi! I'm Florence and I am currently studying for a masters in data science. Previously I studied BSc Mathematics with a placement year (also at Lancaster!). Even though I joined Lancaster during the pandemic I have loved my time here! Outside of my degree, I am the president of Cancer Research UK Society and a member of Baking Society. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have :) Gail
Lancaster UniversityMathematics and StatisticsHello there! 🌟 I'm Gail! I'm currently studying for my PhD in AI Ethics within the SCC department at Lancaster University. My academic journey began with an MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science! I've carried that love for maths with me, even in my new academic field, and love to keep up with Mathematics in my spare time! So, if you're into AI, ethics, or just love the elegance of a well-proved theorem, let's connect! I'm here to share, support, and learn together! Please feel free to message about absolutely any queries you may have, such as with academia itself, or just general university life queries! I would be more than happy to help. :) Haiming
University of WarwickMathematics and Statistics (BSc)I am a second-year Mathematics and Statistics student at the University of Warwick, an international student from China. I am currently preparing for my master’s applications and aim to pursue a career in data-related fields. Therefore, I have focused on courses in data analysis, statistical modeling, and computational methods to strengthen my mathematical and statistical foundation while enhancing my data processing and application skills. As an international student, I have adapted to a multicultural learning environment and broadened my perspective through cross-cultural interactions, which also gives me an advantage in teamwork and academic research in diverse settings. John
University of GlasgowStatistics [BSc/MSci]Hey everyone! I'm John and I am currently a fourth year MSci in Statistics student at the University of Glasgow. I enjoy exploring new developments in statistics and data science and I am interested in a career in this area after graduation. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about studying at the university and student life here in Glasgow. Robert
Lancaster UniversityMathematics and StatisticsHello! I'm Robert, a 4th-year Mathematics student at Lancaster University. I originally started in Accounting and Finance, but quickly realised my passion lay in maths, leading me to switch courses and dive deep into the subject I love. Studying at Lancaster has been a rewarding journey, where I’ve not only tackled abstract concepts but also gained the foundation to pursue diverse career paths, including my goal of a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. As the Events and Safety Officer for the Math Society, I've organised both academic and social events, helping create a strong, supportive community. When I'm not immersed in equations, I enjoy cooking, travelling during breaks, and exploring Lancaster's beautiful canal walks and rural scenery. Whether you’ve got questions about life as a student, transitioning courses, or anything related to Lancaster, I’m here to help! Feel free to reach out—I'm looking forward to connecting!
