Hi! I’m in my final year of History with Languages, Cultures and Linguistics. Feel free to ask any questions you have on what studying at SOAS is like, or if you’d like to find out more about what my degree is like!

Anastasiia
University of Essex
Art History
I am a 28 y.o. PhD student with a background in Museum Studies (St Petersburg State University of Culture) and Curatorial Research (St Petersburg State University). My PhD is sponsored by Essex's Human Rights Centre. I'm here to help you start your academic journey with the UoE.
Ask me anything about PGR studies at Essex (especially PHAIS), financial support for international students, accommodation, life on and off campus (especially cultural events, e.g. museums, theatres, etc.) and what it's like to live in the UK/Colchester (e.g. what's there for people from my (and probably yours!) part of the globe, such as where we celebrate Orthodox Easter!).
Fun facts about me: travelled to 30+ countries; have a cute little chinchilla named Pyshka 🍩; learnt that all stereotypes about British weather are true yet still enjoy it here.

I am currently completing my study abroad in Ghent, Belgium and it has been one of the best opportunities of my life, I have been able to meet people from all across the world and study new and interesting classes. I love crafts, museums and the gym.

I am a northern girl with a huge passion for history. My career plan is to hopefully become a historian in a royal palace, specifically Hampton Court Palace. My favourite periods in history are the Wars of The Roses and the Tudor periods. I have a few different hobbies that include reading historical fiction and also trying to see as many musicals as possible.

Hi! My name is Emma and I'm a second year English and History student. I love reading and exploring old ruins and museums, and this degree has only helped to increase my love of these things. I am President of the Korfball Society, and being a part of this society has really helped me to settle into the uni lifestyle and make friends, which was something I was nervous about when starting.

Hello! My name is Filsan and I am a 3rd year student at City studying History and Politics! Georgia
University of Warwick
Undergraduate Classics and Ancient History
I'm Georgia, a 19 year old Classics student from a small town near Reading! After studying both Latin and Greek in school, I have taken a step back from Ancient languages for my first year at uni to explore different sides to classics. Now due to both my language experience from school and what I have learnt at uni, I feel I can give you an accurate view on what Classics at Warwick is like, and answer any further questions you might have! Additionally, coming from a small town with nothing but a single costa coffee shop, moving to the University of Warwick was a big change in how I began to live my life! I had previous experience in staying away from home and my family before university, therefore i'm always happy to chat about the experiences of moving away from home! One of my biggest fears about coming to uni was that I would not be able to make any friends, as I had previously had struggles with making friends at school, but I immediately hit it off with several of my flatmates, who had similar interests as me thanks to Warwick's accommodation quiz! From there I was able to meet even more friends through my course, and through societies like Mixed Hockey! In short, I have never been happier than I am now at Warwick, and I have really been able to express the real me at university! Feel free to ask me questions about any area of life here at Warwick and I will do my best to help and advise you!
Hannah
University of Reading
BA Ancient History
I'm aiming to work in the Heritage sector (Stonehenge would be ideal haha)!
I love all things ancient women and ancient warfare related.
Shipwrecks are another passion of mine, especially the ones from ancient Greece.

Hi, I am Harriet, a first year History student at the University of Wales Trinity St David. I am a keen historian who is primarily interested in early modern history, particularly empires, royalty and gender studies. Outside of my interest in history I am very much interested in fashion, makeup, The Sims franchise and food. Alongside this I am also a keen traveller and love to go on holidays, whether in the UK or abroad and learn about new places and cultures! On my bucket list at the moment is to go to Rome and the Holy See, as well as Kensington Palace, the childhood home of Queen Victoria! After University, I am planning on going into teaching with the aim of becoming a History and Politics teacher at Secondary School and/or Sixth Form/College. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about studying at UWTSD or are interested in studying History at any university! 😊

Hi!! I do a combined degree at SOAS- BA History and Politics. It’s a London university so I get to commute from home :)
I’ve learnt to love coffee to survive the busyness of central London and ofc uni coursework. I have my trusty cat Minnie for emotional support.
Fair warning: for most people A- Levels will be the hardest thing you ever do. So if you’ve gotten through it, congratulations 🌝❤️
