Hi! I'm Anna, I'm 21 years old, I'm Scottish and I study Portuguese and Spanish at the University of Glasgow! Currently I am on my Year Abroad in Sintra, Portugal, at a school participating in a traineeship, which is very exciting🤩. 
In the future, I would like to learn more languages such as Russian and Arabic and work in translation and interpretation, maybe even as a news reporter! However, I also adore music and even write my own, so of course the dream has always been to tour around the world! But we'll see where life takes us🫣...
I am also gluten and dairy intolerant (possibly allergies😱!) so I have had to learn to cook and bake to satisfy my dietary requirements and under a budget! As well as find the best places to eat to suit my needs to...

My name is Annie, and I am a native Swedish speaker currently residing in Glasgow, where I am pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Data Science at the University of Strathclyde. This is a newly introduced programme at the university. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in London. 

Over the past four years in the UK, I have achieved a great deal and had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I enjoy networking with new individuals through university and various professional events. In addition to my studies, I work part-time in retail, which provides me with extra income and valuable experience. I am also an active member of Code First Girls, a coding initiative aimed at empowering women in developing technical skills. Through this initiative, I have completed several online coding courses and am currently enrolled in C# course. 

My ultimate goal is to join a graduate programme or scheme within the pharmaceutical industry. Given that many pharmaceutical companies are increasingly adopting digital technologies in drug discovery, this course aligns perfectly with my career aspirations.

My industrial placement project involves research and development in automated datapoint collection for visible light positioning systems that utilizes machine learning for increased accuracy for 5G & 6G applications.

In Sept 25' I will continue my studies and once I have completed my undergraduate I aspire to become a PhD candidate at the DSP Centre to continue researching in the field of Visible Light Communications & Positioning technologies.
