Hi I’m Abbie 🫶🏻. I am a primary education student here at Leeds trinity completing my first year currently. I live at home and commute in for my lectures. I am a course representative so look very closely into student feedback. I am also the mental health officer for Leeds trinity and look forward to building campaigns to help those at trinity! I was very nervous joining university but realised very quickly it’s like family where everyone is supportive and tries to help at any opportunity. The campus is beautiful and I love to study in lots of different spaces to change up the scenery every now and again! I have a dog walking business to satisfy my love of animals and am also a student ambassador for university. I work part time in a pub not far from the university and love to go running in my spare time to clear my mind! I came from sixth form to university and knew what course I wanted to do. I’m here to answer all of your questions about life at university hoping to give an insight on the student life and what to expect!

Hi there! I have just finished my second year in Primary Education. I am looking forward to my first teaching post after finishing the degree! I commute to university every day and spend my spare time tutoring students for their GCSEs! I have an interest in reading and travelling. I aspire to teach abroad and learn more teaching approaches as I go along. The experiences I have already received from this course are amazing and make me feel so excited to have my own class to teach! I’m currently studying to become a primary school teacher and I am definitely loving doing this at Leeds Beckett! I study on the Headingley campus where I also lived in halls for my first year. I love cooking (and eating), baking, singing and watching TV. I’m also a nail technician on the side which I absolutely love, as everyday is completely different with everyone wanting a different type of nail. BEd (Hons) Primary (KS1/KS2 with QTS)

After finishing my A-levels at small sixth form in 2019 (and a few gap years!), I started my university journey. It took me a long time to decide what path I wanted to take, so I very much relate to the uncertainty you might be feeling at this stage! 

I am from a very rural village in Cornwall, so naturally love the outdoors. So, for someone not used to urban living, Plymouth is a great in-between! It has so much to offer, including a balance between city and coastal life.

I am now in my third (and final!) year of my BEd Primary Education degree, specialising in geography. After graduating in 2025, I hope to pursue a career in teaching and share my passion for educating for sustainability.
