Meet the academics

Louise Ready-Syrat

Louise Ready-Syrat has been programme leader on the BA Television and Radio Production course for 3 years and lecturer for 7. She has really enjoyed giving students a real insight into what is a truly fantastic industry. Her previous career was in television as a Camera Operator on Drama and Continuing Drama for over 15 years. She has also worked as a Producer/Director,  Assistant Producer, Camera Director, Video Journalist and Shooting Producer Director on a number of Documentaries including C4’s Work on the Wildside, the BBC's Helicopter Heroes, as well as producing her own documentary for the BBC Inside Out programme on the Asian Tsunami.  Starting as a very keen work experience student she got her first job in television on a film being made for Sky which didn’t have a continuity person. She was happy to take on the role offered on the understanding that she could also camera trainee as well….  And the rest is history!
