The amount of support you get from the university is amazing. There is additional support for everyone including counselling and financial support. If you come across any hurdles in your personal life, they are there to help you.
At the University of Salford, we have always placed employability at the heart of what we do. We can trace our history back to 1896, when we were founded to meet the needs of the thriving businesses at the heart of Britain’s Industrial Revolution. Today, we work hand-in-hand with businesses and organisations from all sectors to develop courses that are up-to-date and relevant to current challenges. Our academic staff actively engage with industry to update their knowledge and inform their teaching, and we create opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience and develop the professional and personal skills that employers value.
What makes us different
Our focus on practical learning and links with industry sets us apart. Many of our courses are designed and taught by industry practitioners, and work placements are available on a range of courses.
We invest in our facilities and we’ve got ambitious plans for the future as our campus continues to grow. Our £65 million Science, Engineering and Environment building is home to departments across the built environment, science, computing and engineering. New Adelphi, our £55 million home of arts and culture, is designed to inspire the imagination of students studying creative subjects. We’re also the only university with a campus at MediaCity, where our journalism students hone their skills in facilities that mirror those used by professionals.
Our campus is set in the historic city of Salford, part of Greater Manchester. Salford and Manchester are places just waiting to be explored, whether you’re looking for buzzing nightlife, incredible culture, sport or shopping.
