AskBU 

It’s not unusual to worry about settling into life at uni. Our AskBU Team is on hand and can point you in the direction of the right support for you.

Academic support 

• Your Personal Tutor is your first point of contact for any discussions around academic progress.
• We have Peer Assisted Learning leaders, who are fellow students in the year above.

Disability & Additional Learning Support 

• Information, advice and guidance for disability-related concerns 
• Assistance with applications for Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA). 

Health and wellbeing support 

• The Student Wellbeing service is designed to help students who need specific support
• The Student Medical Centre on Talbot Campus offers a full range of services
• The University Retreat is a drop-in service at Talbot Campus.

Financial support 

• Our Student Money Advice Team can help with money concerns
• Non-repayable bursaries and scholarships are available to support eligible new students
• Grants and funds for students experiencing financial hardship. 

Accommodation services 

• If you’re in BU accommodation, ResLifeBU are on hand to provide support
• LettingsBU advertise shared student houses and flats in the area. 

Social support 

• SUBU have a range of clubs and societies
• SportBU at Talbot Campus provides exercise classes in our fitness studios,  the sports hall plays host to multiple team sports including badminton, basketball, handball, futsal and volleyball. and  the gym is packed full of state-of-the art equipment and areas to exercise in, all geared towards your individual fitness plan. There is also a 65-acre multi-sports site at Chapel Gate. We also have partnerships with local venues and clubs across the area so that our BU community can benefit from a rich variety of places and spaces in which to compete, keep fit, and have fun.
