Led by a clinical psychologist, the School has developed an innovative approach to workplace performance and wellbeing through our Contextual Developmental Approach (CDA). By integrating this approach into the curriculum, we aim to encourage and promote the development of psychological thinking and strategies as part of your skillset.

Our Vet School team has a wealth of experience to share, throughout your journey you will be supported by several members of the team, including;

Academic Mentor and Professional Tutor

Academic mentors and professional tutors support academic performance and professional growth throughout years one to three.

Clinical Teaching Fellows

The Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) team are all current or recent veterinary practitioners bringing contemporary and ‘real world’ insights and perspectives. When you join the School, you will be placed in a small group for clinical tutorials led by a CTF, helping you to understand the clinical relevance of your early studies.

Veterinary Professional Preceptors

From year four, students are allocated a veterinary professional as a preceptor, providing coaching and mentorship during the last two years of the Veterinary Medicine and Surgery degree.

Disability and Inclusion Tutors

Disability and Inclusion Tutors (DIT) are the main link with the disability support teams at Harper Adams and Keele universities, offering advice on what adjustments may be available to you, and how to access them. Liaising with the relevant teams to ensure that all recommended adjustments and study support is in place.

Support from our parent universities

In addition to the support available in the School, Harper & Keele Veterinary School students have access to student support at both Harper Adams University and Keele University.

Both universities offer a range of services, including disability support, health and wellbeing support and financial advice and guidance. We work closely with both teams to ensure that this is coordinated across both campuses irrespective of where and when you may need to access these services.
