Project Next Generation: A focus on diversity

Insights to support and inspire a diverse range of young decision-makers across the UK.

UCAS’ Project Next Generation research is an in-depth study of 13-17-year-olds, delving into how young people shape their education and career choices.

We’ve taken a fresh look at the data from our 1,000 respondents, focusing on the motivations for — and barriers to — considering early careers pathways, including apprenticeships, for four key groups of underrepresented students, including: neurodiverse students, women considering STEM careers, students from ethnic minority backgrounds, and students from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

Find out how these groups feel about their future, the pathways they are considering, and how background influences the choices they make.
