Planned maintenance: 17 – 19 November

We are carrying out planned maintenance on Friday 17 November until Sunday 19 November.

This means at times, you may become disconnected from Apply for advisers.

Please do not make any changes to applications during the following times:

  • 07:30 – 08:00 on Friday 17 November
  • 07:30 – 08:00 on Saturday 18 November
  • 14:00 – 15:00 on Saturday 18 November

Please be aware that UCAS Undergraduate Apply may also become disconnected – we’re advising applicants to avoid making changes to their applications at the times listed above.

UCAS Undergraduate Track will also be unavailable between 09:00 – 11:00 on Saturday 18 November.

Linking applications to your centre

Applicants can request to be linked to your centre if they've registered in Apply as an individual. Here we take you through the process.
If an applicant registered as an individual, but should be part of your centre, it’s easy to link them to your centre in Apply for advisers.

Accepting an applicant means you’re agreeing to approve their application, writing and attaching a reference, then sending their application to us once all sections are complete.

How it works

Applicants can request to be linked to your centre by selecting the ‘Options’ section in Apply, clicking on ‘Link your application to your school, college or organisation’, and then entering your buzzword on the following screen.

  1. To see which applicants have requested to be part of your centre, go to the ‘Link applications to centre’ section.
  2. Any requests will be displayed in ‘Applicants to be part of centre’.
  3. Here you can either accept or decline their request. If you accept, their application will be listed among other applicants linked to your centre in the Default Group.
  4. Your coordinator can then move the applicant into another group if necessary.

Providing a reference only

Applicants can request that you write their reference only.

  • If you accept an applicant, you’re agreeing to write and approve their reference.
  • You’ll then be able to view their whole application, but you’ll not be involved in any other part of it.

How it works

Applicants can request a reference only by selecting the ‘Options’ section in Apply, clicking on ‘Ask a registered school, college or organisation to write your reference only’ and then entering your buzzword on the following screen.

  • To see which applicants have requested a reference only from your centre, go to the ‘Link applications to centre’ section.
  • Any requests will be displayed in ‘Applicants requesting reference only’.
  • In this section you can accept or decline their request. If you accept, their application will be listed in the ‘References’ section under ‘Applicants requesting reference only’.
If you accept a request in error, please contact our Schools Team who can reset the decision. They can be contacted on 0345 123 8001 (or +44 330 333 0239 from outside the UK).

If you declined a request by mistake, the applicant will have to make the request again.

Calls will be charged at your standard network rate.
