The Clearing Open Day is held at our Colchester campus on Saturday 15 August.
Attending an Open Day will give you a chance to get to know Essex if you haven’t visited us yet (or if you’ve been to see us already and just fancy another look around).
On the day, you’ll be able to see our accommodation, get a tour of campus including our commuter specific spaces and facilities, meet some of our academics, chat to current students and student services.
Please make sure you check-in when you arrive – you’ll even get a goody bag! Check-in opens at 10am and the day ends at 2pm so there is plenty of time to explore.

On the day you’ll be able to:
- - Meet academic staff from your undergraduate subject area of choice (11am – 1pm)
- - View a range of our accommodation on campus
- - Tour commuter spaces and facilities across campus
- - Chat to our student services including Accommodation, Admissions and Student Finance
- - Join a campus tour
- - Meet members of our Students’ Union Team
- - Listen to a range of talks
There will also be lots of extra activities to get involved with on the day.
Talks
- 10.15am – Welcome Talk
- 11am – Clearing and Next Steps
- 12pm – Student Finance
- 1pm – Commuter talk
Tours
- 11.15am – Science, Electronics & Laboratory tours (covering CSEE / Life Sciences / Maths / Psychology)
- 11.30am – Arts and Humanities departments tour
- 11.45am – Essex Business School tour
- 12pm – School of Health & Social Care tour
- 12.15pm – School of Sport, Rehabilitation & Exercise Sciences tour
- 12.30pm – Common rooms tour
Campus and accommodation tours will run for the duration of the event – last tour departs at 1.30pm.
