University of the Arts LondonBA (Hons) ArchitectureStudying at Central Saint Martins, UAL, has always been a dream of mine. Moving away from home and starting a new life in such a bustling city took some getting used to- but looking back now, as a final year, I wouldn't change a thing. After I graduate I plan on working in Brazil and Portugal before returning to the UK for my Masters (Part II RIBA). Feride

Manchester Metropolitan UniversityArchitectureHello there! I'm Manasvi. I'm a second-year international student studying BA Archtecture at both Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Manchester. Moving abroad for higher education is a big step... University of EssexArt HistoryI am a 28 y.o. PhD student with a background in Museum Studies (St Petersburg State University of Culture) and Curatorial Research (St Petersburg State University). My PhD is sponsored by Essex's Human Rights Centre. I'm here to help you start your academic journey with the UoE. Ask me anything about PGR studies at Essex (especially PHAIS), financial support for international students, accommodation, life on and off campus (especially cultural events, e.g. museums, theatres, etc.) and what it's like to live in the UK/Colchester (e.g. what's there for people from my (and probably yours!) part of the globe, such as where we celebrate Orthodox Easter!). Fun facts about me: travelled to 30+ countries; have a cute little chinchilla named Pyshka 🍩; learnt that all stereotypes about British weather are true yet still enjoy it here.

Personal statement advice: architecture, building and planning
If you’re applying for architecture, planning or building, admissions tutors say they need you to outline your reasons for wanting to study the course. Here’s how you do it. The built environment encompasses lots of courses and professions. As the University of Nottingham puts it, you need to 'be as specific as possible about your interests and enthusiasms'.
