Hi there ! I am Yashil, a 2nd year Bsc Economics and Econometrics student with future career aspirations within the financial industry. 

Being Indian descent, I enjoy watching both north and south Indian movies with my favourite actors being: SRK, Allu Arjun and Thalapathy Vijay. I think it's important to embrace your culture and having attended cultural society events, this has been a fantastic opportunity for me.

I have a passion for fitness and without fail aim to schedule citysport gym sessions around my university timetable and this has significantly improved both my physical and mental well-being. 

 My other side-hobbies includes researching the latest and greatest developments in technology by watching content from youtubers such as: MKBHD & Mrwhosetheboss.

After my foundation I intend to study anthropology and global development. At SOAS there are so many societies to join and fun events to attend even if you aren’t part of the society. I enjoy travelling and trying new places to eat around London with my friends. Central London has such a variety of restaurants and activities so you can never be bored.

I was born and raised in Nigeria and joined UWE early 2023. I will admit I waited till the last minute to decide to pursue software engineering as a degree, but I do believe I made the right decision. My passion for coding and software development is growing by the day and I cannot wait to apply my abilities in the real world. That’s not to say I don’t suffer from imposter syndrome occasionally, but I do think being in the right environment has really helped change my mindset and attitude.

From a young age I have enjoyed competing in both showjumping and eventing for horse riding, I also enjoy baking.
