About us

University Academy 92 (UA92) is a higher education institution in Manchester. We have a campus in Old Trafford and a Business School in the city-centre. We are deliberately different to traditional universities, with fixed morning or afternoon timetables and no end of year exams. Our industry-inspired courses, in Business, Media, Sport and Digital, place character and personal development firmly at the core of the learning experience.

UA92 was established as a collaboration between Lancaster University and the Class of ‘92 - including Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, and Phil Neville. Graduates also benefit from a degree awarded by Lancaster University, who are highly regarded by employers and perform well in University league tables.

More Than A Degree... It's Preparation for Life

What makes us different

5 reasons to choose UA92:

  • Start when you’re ready - Choose to start September, November, January, February, April or June.
  • Study one subject module at a time - Our one module at a time approach helps to keep you focused and gain a deeper understanding of each subject.
  • No traditional end-of-year exams - You’ll be assessed in each module, typically through practical and competency-based methods.
  • Focus on your character and personal development - We are committed to helping you develop personally and professionally, as well as academically.
  • Study in the morning or afternoon -  You’ll study in the morning, from 9am-1pm, or the afternoon, from 2pm-6pm, giving you time to fir other things around your studies.

Start dates can vary and may change. There may be exams in some subject areas, these will be taken at the end of the module and not the academic year. February, April or June starters or accelerated students aren't guaranteed a fixed am/pm timetable.

I didn't think University was for me, but when I visited UA92's open day I could instantly see that it was very different to how I imagined University would be. The friendly people, close-knit community and practical approach to learning made it really appealing to me. So far, I'm loving it! I am an afternoon student so I get the mornings to work, play sports or catch up with my friends. I also joined the UA92 Basketball Team. I;ve never played before but everyone was so welcoming and friendly - I love it!
