Student life

At ESO is an established  specialist osteopathic education provider with a focus on quality education.

Our campus is situated in Maidstone, Kent,  just an hour from London by train. Beautiful countryside and miles of coastline are just on our doorstep.  The school is centrally located, within walking distance from the buzzing town centre.

The ESO has its own on-site Teaching Clinic, so students studying at the ESO do not need to search for a work placement.  Both theory and practical lectures take place on one site.  The Teaching Clinic is well established and attracts patients from all over Kent, ensuring that its students are able to experience treating  a wide range of people with a range of conditions from sports injuries to care of the elderly.

South East England is made up of nine counties, with popular student cities in Brighton & Hove, Oxford, Portsmouth, Reading, and Southampton.

The area sees plenty of sunshine and Brighton – the LGBTQ+ capital of the UK – is a student favourite, with tons of quirky shops, cafes, arts, nightlife and watersports.

Moving east into Kent, you'll find the charming towns of Whitstable, Broadstairs, and Margate – all bursting with literary history – plus the iconic landmarks of Dover’s white cliffs and Canterbury Cathedral.

London is an hour or two away for gigs, theatre trips and capital city adventures, while the country’s two largest airports – Heathrow and Gatwick – mean international journeys are easy to get started.

Campus and facilities

The ESO provides an accessible and supportive learning environment. We have more than 4,500 books on a wide range of medical and health sciences topics, such as anatomy, physiology, osteopathy, manual therapies, sports science, nutrition, statistics and ethics. This includes online access to Plymouth University’s library catalogues and e-learning tools (our partner university). Students are given essential library skills support (e.g. referencing, effective database searching) and study skills support.

Our campus has a canteen, where students can buy snacks, as well as lunch at very reasonable prices.

Our students also have a fully equipped kitchen, so they can cater for themselves if they choose to.  There are plenty of areas to relax in.  Our students organise many events from rock-climbing, surfing to cinema nights, both on and off campus.
