Covi-digital IAG and careers guidance

Open to all
Summary
Before Covid-19, subject, course and university choices were made through a blend of learning. There were face to face events such as HE fairs and subject talks at school, with taster lectures, summer schools and open days on campus. Online, students could access course listings, subject rankings and MOOCs.
Since March 2020, everything has moved online. How do students navigate this new normal? Is the choice so overwhelming that it narrows rather than broadens the selections students make? Are students, who need their friend’s encouragement to start a conversation, more or less likely to engage with a chatbot or a text-based discussion forum at a vFair? How many students will only step foot on campus at their Firm choice university when they arrive to enrol in September 2021?
Equally, as lockdown measures ease, how confident are students, and their parents, about attending an event at a university where they will be meeting people from outside their immediate area.

Learning outcomes:
Delegates attending this session can expect to:
- Review and recap the events and activities (in-person and online) that are part of a careers programme
- Consider the revised timelines, sequencing of activity, and skills development that students need to enable them to engage and benefit from a digital careers programme.
