Major Adam Hughes

Deputy OC Nursing, Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Medical Corps

Biography

Major Hughes joined the Queen Alexandra Royal Army Nursing Corps in 2009 following 10 years working as an acute medical nurse at Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham. Since joining he has deployed to various environments ranging from Afghanistan to Sierra Leone and most recently to Pakistan and Washington on Defence Engagements. He is a Defence Specialist Advisor for medicine to the Surgeon General. He is qualified as an advanced nurse practitioner for acute medicine and is currently studying for a Professional Doctorate. He balances work with life with his wife Clair, four children and 2 dogs.
