Inspiring Choices Conference 2021

Abi is a School Nurse at The West London Free School, Hammersmith. It is a large state secondary comprehensive with just under 1000 pupils. Her role is to ensure that the health and welfare needs of all pupils are met so that pupils can participate fully in their education. Abi oversees the management of pupils in school with conditions such as type I diabetes, asthma and severe allergies as well as being the first port of call for pupils with a mental health problem such as anxiety, self-harm, and eating disorders. Abi previously specialised in Intensive Care and Transplant Coordination before choosing a branch of nursing more conducive to looking after a young family. She is a Mental Health First Aider and a key member of the school’s Pastoral Team.
