Lancaster UniversityEnvironmental and Earth SciencesHi I’m Emily! I’m in my third year studying Earth and Environmental Science, with the hopes of becoming a volcanologist in the future. I’d swapped from studying Geography in my first year, so am able to answer questions on either degree. I’ve loved living on campus and in town, I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about the uni or Lancaster in general :) I’m also on the study abroad scheme so can answer any enquiries about this. Kathryn
Lancaster UniversityEnvironmental and Earth SciencesHello! I'm Kathryn and I am an Environmental Science PhD student. I also did a BSc in Environmental Science at Lancaster University. I am researching the chemistry of halogens in the troposphere. Pooja
Bangor UniversityEnvironmental ScienceHi! I’m Pooja, and I’ve been living in Bangor since 2021. I completed my Master’s in Molecular Medicine and am currently pursuing a PhD focused on wastewater monitoring for pathogenic fungal infections and antifungal resistance. I aspire to be a scientist who can contribute to improving public health and quality of life through meaningful research. I’m passionate about finding ways to tackle global health challenges, and I’m excited to connect with like-minded individuals who share an interest in microbiology, environmental sciences, and public health! Adrianna
Bangor UniversityMarine BiologyHi, I'm Adrianna. I'm from North West England. I decided I wanted to do marine biology, when someone did an online talk at my college all about the marine environment and biology. My main hobbies include sewing; gaming; watching films and series; and spending time with friends and family. Some of my favorite games are Animal Crossing; Slime Rancher; and Stardew Valley. Some of my favorite movies/series are: How to Train Your Dragon; Vampire Diaries; Grey's Anatomy; and Disney movies. Akosua Nyantakyiwaa
University of NorthamptonMsc Public HealthI began my career as a midwife in Ghana, where I had the privilege of supporting women and families during one of the most important moments in their lives. This hands-on experience in maternal and newborn care not only strengthened my clinical skills but also ignited my passion for improving people’s lives and contributing to positive change on a larger scale. I am currently pursuing this passion through the MSc Public Health programme at the University of Northampton. The university has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to design, implement, as well as evaluate policies and interventions that can improve maternal and child health outcomes at population levels. To prospective students, your decision to study at the University of Northampton is an excellent one. You will have the opportunity to learn from dedicated lecturers, access comprehensive resources, and engage in a diverse, supportive academic community. The university encourages critical thinking, fosters practical problem-solving abilities, and provides the platform to translate your ambitions into meaningful impact, while also offering a vibrant campus life that enriches both your professional and personal growth. University of GlasgowMarine & Freshwater Biology [BSc/MSci]I am a second year marine biology student. I am also the GU SRC first year rep. I was on a different course before starting marine bio. I was studying Design and technology Education here at Glasgow uni. Amandine
Bangor UniversityMarine BiologyHiya, I'm Amandine. I'm a 3rd year student studying marine biology & oceanography at Bangor hoping to work in coral or general conservation projects when i leave. I have completed a marine conservation internship in the seychelles and Mozambique to improve my diving and to start my conservation journey. Coolest animal ive seen so far: a Humpback whale! Amy
Bangor UniversityConservationHi, I am currently studying conservation and hope to work in the environment sector focusing on sustainability. I love wildlife and the natural environment so want to protect this for everyone. I've also got a love for animals and have rescued many from donkeys to hens. From a young age I've had a passion for sports, specifically aquatic ones! Eleanor
University of ReadingBSc Ecology & Wildlife ConservationI love everything to do with animals, the outdoors and baking. I plan to become a teacher after i graduate. I can help with any questions about minority backgrounds, including having a disability, being from a low economic background and commuting to University. I also engage with many societies and sports within the university and am happy to help with any queries you may have. Georgina
Bangor UniversityMarine BiologyI love being outside and enjoying nature especially whilst doing something active. I also love marine life and could probably talk for hours about them. Kallie
Bangor UniversityMarine BiologyI currently study marine biology, and plan to pursue a career in conservation. I would love to work with a rescue and rehabilitation center as a rescue coordinator and care specialist, or as a diver for conservation and restoration projects around the world. Alongside my coursework, I’m a member of the women’s rugby union. I absolutely love my team, and all the experiences I have through them (like Wednesday night socials)! Sport and society opportunities at Bangor are phenomenal, and I’d love to tell you all about them! We also have a multitude of volunteering opportunities, with truly something for everyone. Bangor can feel quite small, but between uni-sponsored opportunities, third-party events, and living on the doorstep of Eryri, there’s no reason you can’t have a vibrant time here. Megan
Bangor UniversityConservationI’m a Bangor University student studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, despite not taking any science A-levels—proof that anything is possible if you follow your passion! My volunteer work at a local Owl sanctuary has sparked a deep interest in birds of prey, especially owls, and I hope to pursue a career in this field. I also manage social media for Greener Gwynedd (a university volunteer group) and volunteer with local wildlife groups, gaining hands-on conservation experience. Outside of uni, I love hiking and exploring the nature around North Wales, listening to music (especially Noah Kahan), reading, and playing video games.
