Clearing opens today – plan A for 17,500 people

Anyone thinking of starting university this September can apply now as Clearing opens today. Between 5 July and A level results day in 2018, 7,730 people had already used Clearing to secure a place on their chosen course.

Mature students – local, focused, and female

Research published by UCAS today shows that mature students are more likely to apply to universities and colleges close to home, primarily for a limited selection of vocational subjects, and when there are fewer jobs available.

Closed sixth forms, cancelled exams, reassessed grades, and many were furloughed from their part time jobs. Autumn 2020’s freshers had a tough run up to their first year at university, but despite the chaos of Covid, the spending power of students has remained resilient, according to the first part of the 2021 Student Lifestyle Report, published today by UCAS Media.
