Hi! I'm Chris👦🏻, an Adult Nursing student at Swansea University's Singleton Park campus. 

I work as a Senior Ambassador for the university assisting in admission, compliance, marketing, recruitment, and international and future student experience.  I also practice at Swansea Bay University Health Board, covering all 3 acute hospitals within Swansea & Neath Port Talbot jurisdiction. 

Previously, I was part of the School of Health and Social Care (SHSC), which includes a combined 68 UG & PGT/PGR Programme's, I liaised with teaching and non-teaching faculty as School Rep; leading student engagement, student experience, student voice & inclusivity partnership from 2023 to 2024. I had previously worked for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar™ as a Health & Safety Executive, HSV/HSE - HC.

My current project with Swansea University as a SPIN Intern in the Dept of Nursing is to assist in learning and teaching materials and strategies for the nursing programmes of Swansea University.

My interest and where I see myself doing something after graduation would be in acute care mainly in Ophthalmology 👁 - with Eyes👓, Intensive care in Cardiothoracic ❤️‍🩹- the heart 🫀and the lungs🫁, or Emergency Medicine🚑.

As someone born and raised in the UAE with Filipino roots, I have had the privilege of a multicultural upbringing that has shaped my worldview. My positive experience as an international student further broadened my horizons, helping me develop adaptability and resilience—qualities that I will carry into my career. In addition to my professional ambitions, I also have a deep passion for baking, which allows me to blend creativity with precision, much like in finance.

Adventure Filmmaking (BA)

As well as my studies I run a business in manufacturing. I self taught photography over a number of years around work and eventually decided that I wanted to learn filmmaking skills as well, so I applied for the adventure filmmaking course on a part time basis. 

Over my time on the course I have learnt a lot of valuable filmmaking skills but it has also reinforced and developed my passion for photography. The adventure side of the course also helps me develop as a leader and educator in the outdoors.

Using all of the skills I have learnt so far and continue to learn on the course I would love to one day lead photography and filmmaking workshops in the UK and abroad.

I am committed to forging a career in law that centers on advocacy. My short-term goal is to qualify as a barrister specialising in financial law and consumer rights, where I aim to champion equitable outcomes for individuals and businesses navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Over time, I aspire to deepen my expertise in these fields, leveraging courtroom advocacy to protect vulnerable parties and uphold accountability in financial systems.

Looking further ahead, my long-term aspiration is to serve as a judge in a senior appellate court. I am driven by the belief that the judiciary plays a pivotal role in shaping fair, precedent-setting decisions—particularly in areas like consumer protection and financial disputes, where systemic imbalances often persist. By bridging rigorous legal analysis with a steadfast commitment to equity, I hope to contribute meaningfully to jurisprudence while fostering public trust in the legal system.

I love the idea of teaching English in South Korea. I have spent much time in Seoul and Busan over the past 2 years and would love the opportunity to move more permanently. I am learning to speak Korean and will participate in a summer school in Seoul this summer to expand my language knowledge further.
