Hi there! I'm Daria, and I'm aspiring to be an illustrator and graphic designer with a focus on children's book illustrations. My dream is to have my own studio where I can bring creative projects to life. 

As a third-year student at LCC in University of Arts in London, I'm honing my skills in illustration for visual media. Outside of my studies, I'm a big fan of reading, watching classic films, and exploring London for cozy coffee spots. I also have a deep appreciation for art history and love spending time in galleries.

I previously worked in the corporate world for 10 years and decided to quit my job and follow my dream which is to travel the world and teach English. I am a second year student studying English Language for TEFL. I am passionate about languages though I dont speak any other language fluently I am learning Japanese, Chinese (Mandarin) Spanish, Italian and Korean. I am from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire where I grew up in a predominantly working-class area and family. I am the first member of my family to finish secondary school education and attend university. I initially came to Glasgow to study zoology but quickly changed to microbiology after discovering my passion for infectious diseases and lab work. I am secretary for Glasgow University Immunity & Infection Society and UofG Antimicrobials & Antimicrobial Resistance Society. I also run and act as secretary for an anti-hate crime charity in Kilmarnock called 4ward2gether which I have done since 2019. Starting university can be very daunting but don’t be nervous as so many other people are feeling the same! I will do my best to help you with any questions you may have!

From 2016-2018 I studied Art, Photography and Psychology A-Levels at Princethorpe College, Rugby, and after not being too sure of what I wanted to study at university I decided to throw myself into full time employment. I then came across the Specialist Hair and Media Make-Up course here at University College Birmingham and applied in 2020. Moving cities during the pandemic was very strange, however I soon became very comfortable at The Maltings where I lived with the majority of my classmates. After three years of study, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and I have now moved onto studying Prosthetics for Film and Television MA. Alongside the masters degree, University College Birmingham gave me the opportunity to work for them as an intern in the Marketing Department as part of the masters internship bursary scheme, where my course is paid for in the form of 400 hours of work over the academic year (September-July), which has been a huge benefit for myself financially. I also work as a part time front of house team member at a restaurant in Birmingham city centre, I enjoy this job a lot as I get to interact with lots of different people, I also feel very accepted there as I am free to express myself with my piercings, tattoos and makeup.
