City St George's, University of London
Finance with Actuarial Science BSc (Hons)
I am a second-year student at City, University of London, currently pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science (I’m sure you haven’t heard much about this course!). My academic journey has been shaped by diverse experiences across different countries. Originally from Pakistan, I was raised in the UAE, where I developed a strong passion for both academics and sports. Representing the UAE at the U16 national level in cricket was a proud moment that taught me the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
After completing my IGCSEs in the UAE, I moved to the UK at 17 to further my education. I completed a foundation course at Kaplan, which prepared me for the rigorous academic environment at university. My dedication paid off when I secured admission into City, where I’m now delving into the world of risk and probability through my studies in Actuarial Science.
At City, I’m focused on excelling academically while also developing a well-rounded skill set for a successful career in actuarial science. My journey from Pakistan to the UAE and now to the UK has been one of growth, learning, and embracing new challenges, and I’m excited to see where it takes me next.

Sports Therapy
Hi ! I’m a 3rd-year undergraduate student studying Sports Therapy at the University of Essex. I started my journey here at just 17 years old, moving not only to an entirely new country but adjusting to living alone was a challenge, but along the way, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks that I’d love to share with you because I know how hard it can be.
For the past two years, I’ve been part of the V Team, and this year, I’m the Session Leader for the Refugee Teaching Program. I’ve also lived on campus all three years, so I’ve had plenty of experience with campus life, accommodations, and all things Essex.
If you have any questions about being an international student, life on campus, accommodation, or volunteering opportunities, feel free to reach out!

Studying at Lancaster has been a rewarding journey, where I’ve not only tackled abstract concepts but also gained the foundation to pursue diverse career paths, including my goal of a PhD in Artificial Intelligence.
As the Events and Safety Officer for the Math Society, I've organised both academic and social events, helping create a strong, supportive community. When I'm not immersed in equations, I enjoy cooking, travelling during breaks, and exploring Lancaster's beautiful canal walks and rural scenery. Whether you’ve got questions about life as a student, transitioning courses, or anything related to Lancaster, I’m here to help! Feel free to reach out—I'm looking forward to connecting!
