Hi, I'm Adrianna. I'm from North West England.
I decided I wanted to do marine biology, when someone did an online talk at my college all about the marine environment and biology.
My main hobbies include sewing; gaming; watching films and series; and spending time with friends and family.
Some of my favorite games are Animal Crossing; Slime Rancher; and Stardew Valley.
Some of my favorite movies/series are: How to Train Your Dragon; Vampire Diaries; Grey's Anatomy; and Disney movies.
Alice
University of Essex
Marine Biology
Hello! 👋 I'm Alice, a student at the University of Essex currently pursuing an integrated masters in Tropical Marine Biology. I'm thrilled to be a part of the Unibuddy community as a Student Ambassador, where I can share my unique journey and experiences with you.
Beyond the academic realm, I have a deep passion for invertebrates in the sea, including jellyfish and other odd looking creatures! Extra-curricular activities are where I find balance between academia and fun. Squash, running and scuba diving are sports that I truly enjoy. The thrill of a competitive squash match or the serenity of a long run along the coastline are experiences I cherish.
Future Career Plan:
As I progress through my academic journey, my ultimate goal is to contribute significantly to the field of marine biology. I aspire to earn a Ph.D., conducting ground-breaking research that sheds light on the complexities of gelatinous animals and their role in marine ecosystems. My vision extends beyond the laboratory; I aim to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and public understanding, advocating for the conservation of our oceans.
Join me on this exciting adventure through academia and exploration of the deep sea on Unibuddy! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about marine biology, integrated masters programs, or if you just want to chat about our shared interests.
Let's make the most of our academic journey together! 🌊🔬🏃♂️

Amelia
University of Lincoln
Biology - BSc (Hons)
Hi! I’m Amelia, and I’m studying biology at UOL! I am the course rep for my year and also a student ambassador, and my interests in biology are towards the structural aspects. I enjoy learning about human biology and how the human systems work, and the similarities between us and animals. I hope to study more about the history of biology, such as fossils and bones in the future, as well as ‘ancientbiotics’ - how humans treated diseases without the knowledge we have now. In my free time I like to help out and volunteer with projects relating to my interests in biology and also tabletop games!

Marine Biology
I love being outside and enjoying nature especially whilst doing something active. I also love marine life and could probably talk for hours about them.
Harry
University of Lincoln
Biology - BSc (Hons)
I'm now at the end of my second year of biology undergraduate degree. I was originally on the biochemistry course before realising it wasn't right for me, and switching to biology. During my time here, I've been apart of a employer project on the Lincoln award and taken on the role of student ambassador.

University of Sussex
Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences
Hi, I'm Izzy and I'm a current biomedical science student. In my spare time, I love knitting things for my friends, listening to music and playing computer games. I also love nature walks, which is one of the reasons I came to Sussex. I am happy to answer any questions about student life :)
Kallie
Bangor University
Marine Biology
I currently study marine biology, and plan to pursue a career in conservation. I would love to work with a rescue and rehabilitation center as a rescue coordinator and care specialist, or as a diver for conservation and restoration projects around the world.
Alongside my coursework, I’m a member of the women’s rugby union. I absolutely love my team, and all the experiences I have through them (like Wednesday night socials)! Sport and society opportunities at Bangor are phenomenal, and I’d love to tell you all about them! We also have a multitude of volunteering opportunities, with truly something for everyone. Bangor can feel quite small, but between uni-sponsored opportunities, third-party events, and living on the doorstep of Eryri, there’s no reason you can’t have a vibrant time here.

My main passions are biology and the environment, which is why I'm studying at Bangor University!
I make the most of the outdoors surrounding Bangor so feel free to ask me about travel and places to visit.
I like to give things a go so know about many of the clubs, societies and volunteering projects.
Future career plans are to become a researcher, so I will be continuing at Bangor for my MSc and pHd!
I look forward to hearing from you.

My future plans involve working in a lab to progress research in genetic diseases that affect the immune system. This comes from a place of personal interest because I had a chronic genetic disease but am now cured and wish to help on this front by getting into research.

Hi, I am currently studying conservation and hope to work in the environment sector focusing on sustainability. I love wildlife and the natural environment so want to protect this for everyone. I've also got a love for animals and have rescued many from donkeys to hens. From a young age I've had a passion for sports, specifically aquatic ones!

Hi guys :) I'm Arianna and I am currently finishing my first year at the University of Lincoln for studying Biochemistry. I hope to get a pHD one day and become a lecturer. I am interested in cancer research and vaccine development and might get into doing a Biotechnology or Microbiology Masters at Lincoln. Next year I want to join a sports society such as fencing or tennis and the table top society. :)

Hannah
University of Essex
Biochemistry
Hi, I’m Hannah and I am an undergraduate biochemistry student at the University of Essex. I loved biology and chemistry at A level which lead me on to choose my degree to find out about those subjects in more depth.
I like drawing and reading. I also love music, my favourite artist is Adele. And I also like playing on my piano
James
University of Warwick
Biochemistry (MBio)
I studied Biology, chemistry, maths and french for A levels and chose to do biochemistry at Warwick because of the opportunity to complete a paid research placement and complete your masters at the same time. I also love the campus vibes and felt very at home when I first visited.
I am passionate about research, especially in the field of antimicrobial resistance. In the summer I will be conducting a research project using AlphaFold to model the Enzymes involved in the production of a gram-negative enterobacterial cell surface protein called the O-antigen polysaccharide. The aim of the research is to build more accurate 3D models of the enzymes involved and test different ligands to see if they can act as inhibitors. These can then be tested for the ability to form novel antibiotics.
My career ambitions are not that clear to me yet. After my Industrial Masters I would I may want to go into a research role. However, I also have a passion for finance, so I am currently gaining experience in this industry alongside my degree so to have as many options as possible for the future.

Conservation
I’m a Bangor University student studying Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, despite not taking any science A-levels—proof that anything is possible if you follow your passion! My volunteer work at a local Owl sanctuary has sparked a deep interest in birds of prey, especially owls, and I hope to pursue a career in this field. I also manage social media for Greener Gwynedd (a university volunteer group) and volunteer with local wildlife groups, gaining hands-on conservation experience. Outside of uni, I love hiking and exploring the nature around North Wales, listening to music (especially Noah Kahan), reading, and playing video games.
Morgan
University of Suffolk
BSc (Hons) Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation Science
I’m very passionate about the natural world and prefer to be outside rather than in. I’ve lived in the Northeast of England my entire life so moving across the country was a big life change, but it’s been entirely worth it! Following this course my ideal career would be one in ornithology or working with populations of endangered wild birds, which I’m very enthusiastic about and love to observe and photograph them whenever I can.

Hello, I'm Rebecca! I'm a Biochemistry student, with a specific interest in molecular biology, protein structure and function, and drug development. During my time at Lancaster, I've completed a placement year at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and a summer internship in the university labs. I've loved my time at university so far, highlights include watching the ducks on campus, losing pub quizzes, and going out for food with my friends! Feel free to ask me any questions about my experience at Lancaster, studying bioscience at university, or applying for an internship/placement!
