Hi I’m Abbie 🫶🏻. I am a primary education student here at Leeds trinity completing my first year currently. I live at home and commute in for my lectures. I am a course representative so look very closely into student feedback. I am also the mental health officer for Leeds trinity and look forward to building campaigns to help those at trinity! I was very nervous joining university but realised very quickly it’s like family where everyone is supportive and tries to help at any opportunity. The campus is beautiful and I love to study in lots of different spaces to change up the scenery every now and again! I have a dog walking business to satisfy my love of animals and am also a student ambassador for university. I work part time in a pub not far from the university and love to go running in my spare time to clear my mind! I came from sixth form to university and knew what course I wanted to do. I’m here to answer all of your questions about life at university hoping to give an insight on the student life and what to expect!

There is a lot to say about myself! I currently study education studies: primary in Welsh so I have numerous options from here. My main goal is to be working with children. This could include a job in teaching or in any other education setting or environment. I have numerous hobbies such a Football and I often go down to Swansea and watch my team play. I also play county darts and have a real passion for the sport. I also love the social life in university and meeting new people and trying out different things! It's a very fun experience!

Adventure Filmmaking (BA)

As well as my studies I run a business in manufacturing. I self taught photography over a number of years around work and eventually decided that I wanted to learn filmmaking skills as well, so I applied for the adventure filmmaking course on a part time basis. 

Over my time on the course I have learnt a lot of valuable filmmaking skills but it has also reinforced and developed my passion for photography. The adventure side of the course also helps me develop as a leader and educator in the outdoors.

Using all of the skills I have learnt so far and continue to learn on the course I would love to one day lead photography and filmmaking workshops in the UK and abroad.

I worked within secondary education for 22 years before starting my PhD research at Leeds Trinity University (LTU). My professional practice and personal ethos have always focused on creating opportunities for children to develop and thrive. Working towards attaining my Masters at LTU not only ignited a passion for research but it also highlighted how academics can work collaboratively with families, professionals and the Government to inform policy & practice. My research is focusing on school attendance and why children living in Bradford may refuse to access their education with an aim to develop targeted bespoke interventions for the city's children.
 
The level of support and specialist training I have received during the start of my PhD journey at LTU has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to not only developing my academic skills but to also having future opportunities to contribute to the research community, and to support other students with their learning journey at LTU. Documentary Photography and Visual Activism (BA)

Over my four years studying at UWTSD I have become involved in lots of sectors within the university as student representative and have a broad knowledge and experience of the courses. Through the foundation course in art and design I have gone onto a degree in photography, here I love to explore all the different photographic processes that reflect sustainability and ecology as well as empowering women. Also, my experience with learning support with dyslexia and living in different student accommodations I hope will help and answer any worries you may have starting university.

Hi, I am Harriet, a first year History student at the University of Wales Trinity St David. I am a keen historian who is primarily interested in early modern history, particularly empires, royalty and gender studies. Outside of my interest in history I am very much interested in fashion, makeup, The Sims franchise and food. Alongside this I am also a keen traveller and love to go on holidays, whether in the UK or abroad and learn about new places and cultures! On my bucket list at the moment is to go to Rome and the Holy See, as well as Kensington Palace, the childhood home of Queen Victoria!
