Student life

Our students enjoy a lifestyle a little beyond the ordinary.

From world-class beaches to delicious food, from a lively music and arts scene and a wild landscape like no other, Falmouth provides a truly unique student experience.

Falmouth might not be a city, but when it comes to weird and wonderful events, festivals, activities and nights out, our vibrant creative community constantly pushes the boundaries of what a town can do.

What's it like to live in South West?
Check out our region guide

The South West of England is made up of seven counties, with key student cities including Bristol, Plymouth, Bournemouth, and Bath.

This largely rural corner of the world is a go-to for those seeking peace, tranquility, and mindfulness. That said, it also hosts Glastonbury – ideal if the festival is on your bucket list.

Cornwall, Dorset, and Devon are coastal favourites, with idyllic beaches and waves to test the bravest surfers.

Cider and cheese buffs will be more than content, with both produced locally. You can always walk it off in Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks – but watch out for the ‘Beast of Exmoor’, an elusive big cat spotted roaming the wild terrain since the 70s.

Campus and facilities

Our creative community is spread across two campuses in neighbouring towns: Falmouth and Penryn.

Each campus has professional-standard facilities, experienced staff and student support available. There are easy links between both campuses, and the course you choose will determine where you spend the majority of your time.

Penryn Campus

Standing proud above Penryn town and just a short hop away from Falmouth, Penryn campus’ outstanding facilities and industry-standard technology make it the ideal place to hone your skills. Penryn is home to fashion, games, performance, music, photography and business courses.

Falmouth Campus

Subtropical gardens and light-flooded studios make Falmouth campus a haven for creative practice - and a few minutes' walk from the beach! With a lively creative community, impressive facilities and a library, it’s the perfect space to share and develop your skills. Falmouth campus is home to art, illustration, communication, design and architecture courses.
