University of East Anglia UEALiterature and Creative WritingI'm from Hyderabad, which is a metropolitan city in the south of India. Hyderabad has an incredibly rich and diverse literary history, and growing up there meant that I was inevitably drawn into art and literature. Writing has always been my passion- I can't remember a time when I didn't make up stories in my head! I love literature that's accessible yet elegant, simple stories done beautifully with care. I've spent the last three years at UEA on the English Literature with Creative Writing course, and fallen in love with both Norwich and UEA. There's a real camaraderie to be found among students and staff here, and despite being thousands of miles from India I've begun to feel at home here in Norwich. UEA is full of brilliant, passionate people who support each other and aim to effect real change in the world- being here has not only exposed me to different cultures and experiences, but also helped to improve my craft and expand my perspective of the world. Myself, having had moved to Plymouth from London can understand some of the concerns or fears around university life but hopefully my experience can ease some of your anxiety :) I'm in my 1st year of social work and so far it's been an interesting learning experience! My placements have been very insightful and inspiring for my journey in social work, at this moment my interest is around working in children's services but im still enjoying exloring my placement with adults. My previous studies being A-Level Psychology, Sociology and BTEC Health & Social Care has definetely contributed to my interest in this career path as I am intrigued in both sociological and psychological aspects of individuals with my favorites being around biopsychology and adverse childhood experiences. The best thing about this degree is that it's extremely broad so there's an interest for everyone. for example, it covers subjects from the medical field, law, sociology, education and psychology which gives you unlimited opportunities to explore in the future and plenty of career choices!
